Nov 14, 2004    Firm opens Loggerhead Club & Marina. Company donates $500,000 for naming rights to Juno's Marinelife Center.

North County's latest luxury docking facility is the Loggerhead Club & Marina, a 130-slip marina on the west side of Intracoastal Waterway near Donald Ross Road.

During opening ceremonies on Wednesday, the developers, Jupiter-based Seven Kings Holdings, Inc., donated $500,000 to the Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. The 13,000-square foot center, which will be completed in 2006, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and study of marine turtles and other resources. The center was renamed the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Located at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach, the research and educational center will have an outdoor sea turtle recovery area, coastal exhibition room, touch tank for visitors and nature center. An elevated observation deck will allow 50-60 people to watch outdoor presentations.

Formerly known as Frenchman's Marina, the renamed facility located about 100 yards south of Donald Ross Road has 130 slips for yachts for vessels up to 120 feet long. Fueling facilities, dockside electricity, laundry and picnic areas with barbeque grills are available.

At the dock, uniformed staff meets boaters with concierge-level amenities, including free gourmet coffee, bottled water, daily local newspapers and electronic mail and shipping capabilities. The marina is aimed at creating "a turnkey way of life," said Raymond Graziotto, co-owner of Loggerhead Club & Marina.

"The marine industry used to be exclusively product driven, with craft sales and slip leases as the only concern. We have shifted the market to the enhancement of the total boating experience," said Graziotto. "The convenience is there from the time you decide to take the boat out until the minute it is returned, and everything in between."

Jupiter-based Seven Kings, Inc. is a privately held company that does real estate development in marinas as well as multi-family, resort, commercial and industrial property. The company operates several other marinas in South Florida, including Gundlach Marine Center in Lantana, Grand Harbor Marina in Vero Beach, Harbor Islands Marina in Hollywood, Maule Lake Marina in Miami Beach, Black Point Marina in Miami and Waterways Marina in Aventura.

The company is planning the opening of Inlet Harbor Marina in Riviera Beach.

Along with the naming rights for the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the marina plans to take an active role in the future development of the center, said Graziotto.

"By upgrading our center, we increase the educational value for our visitors," said Loggerhead Marinelife Center Executive Director Vince Lowe.
